WIMPY in the 1970's

My mom sent me an email of the Wimpy menu in 1972, its unbelievable!
Its like, 'um, what to eat...uuh..I'll just order the whole menu thanks'. Back in the day vibes, very cool! My mom said she used to go to the movies and get popcorn for like 25c! Come on! I don't even think you could buy a chappie for 25c these days...Anyway, regardless of price, nothing beats a Wimpy cheese burger, chips and cream soda on one of those death by alcohol days!

When fashion repeats itself....

Growing up, my Mom always used to say 'Oh when I was your age, I used to wear pants just like that, its amazing how the same fashion comes and goes' or 'can you believe it, I used to have sunglasses just like that when I was your age' yada yada,,, and I always thought to myself ' ya, ya, whatever mom - in these pants? I dont think so.'
BUT when digging in her photo box yesterday, I came across this photo (amongst 4 other little surprises that I will share in the next post). This has to be my favourite pic of my Mom and I!
I absolutely love what she is wearing, and have been looking for a hat like this one for a while now! Even those funny gardening shoes are now in fashion! This look inspires me, and I am now on a  mission to copy it .
P.S's: Just like they say, Moms are ALWAYS right!

Neighbour Goods Market

yum! Last week Saturday, we finally decided to venture out into the wild...Joburg city, to visit this much talked about market thing... the Neighbour Goods Market. I was sooo impressed! what a brilliant concept, i loved every step of it. So many food stuffs! As we entered through the pineapple express, we came across a shroom table - the good kind,, and ordered a stick of mixed mushrooms - on a stick ;) after that the list continues: pomegranate slush, delicious bruchetta, thai nibbles, choc brownies, darling beer, raw chocolate (worth every cent of it), caramel pancake. We sat outside in the sunny vibey atmosphere and enjoyed our packets of goodness. If we had anymore, we would have to roll home! But theres always next month!
Still to buy: Rocket pizza, pineapple cocktail, fresh bread, macaroons, pie and whatever else tickles my fancy! Cant wait.

 

If I...

If I lived in Cape Town or Umhlanga, or any place near the sea, a place with sidewalk cafe's, craft stores and bakeries...a place with long, beautiful and safe roads, a place far from JHB, then I would get myself a Velorbis bicycle. Im inlove! They are made in Denmark, and a little pricey..But one day, you will be mine, complete with a leather satchel and a wooden basket containing cupcakes - the chocolate ones, my mini Diana and a glamour magazine!

Love birds

'Simply Amazing' would be the words I would use to describe Kerryn and Roberts special day.
Nothing over the top, but nothing too simple... The whole venue and everything about the wedding  symbolised this perfect couple. Kerryn looked so beautiful and so happy, Robert looked very 'dapper' in his chocolate suit and had the biggest smile on his face the entire day! A perfect wedding. Sadly I didnt have my camera for the most of the wedding (idiot i know), but here's the link to see the professional photos by Carmen Visser (i love them all, especially the one of Kerryn and her sister - Niki, holding the parasols.aaaah .... true love.

Ccb ♥ Couture

My very talented friend from Durban, Chanelle, has just started a clothing brand called 'Ccb Couture'. Her designs are amazing! They are bright and colourful, unique, trendy and sexy, and I can see a piece of her in each garment! I love that she uses a variety of materials in her designs, and that every piece shows such freedom and creativity.

Lomography - Getting there slowly

So, I have only developed 2 films since i've had my mini Diana, and have only recieved like a handful of decent photos, but i dont care -  i've enjoyed taking every single photo!...I love the fact that I have to take my film in to get developed, as that means I get a packet full of suprises about an hour later when I go to fetch it! Driving home and getting to the computer couldnt be more exciting when you have a newly developed film put onto disc! Here are some of my favourite photos so far....

Kerryn's Batchelorette...

A friend of mine, Kerryn, is getting married in 2 weeks time. Saturday the 10th of September was a  special day filled with sweets, laughter and fun!..It was Kerryn's batchelorette, a tea party inspired by the Madhatter. The decor was just too magical for words!  Have a look see for yourself, although, you had to have been there, the photos dont do justice!  xxx

Oh my, you have to see these clothes and these 'real-life couples'!!

THEY ARE AMAZING!...

So, THE KOOPLES, French for 'couples', is a new brand that has launched in Paris and Brittain.  A massive hit across the fashion world! Founded by three brothers called Alexander, Laurent and Raphael - the sons of the people behind the successful Comptoir des Cotonniers womenswear chain. The awesome advertising campaign featuring real-life couples looking drop-dead gorgeous in their Kooples gear is seen all over taxis and cabs in London. How hot are these people and their outfits? IM SO JEALOUS!
