my horse....
Showjumping was my first love, my everything! When I was 15, my Dad and I went looking for a new horse as I had outgrown my pony. We drove far out to try out a horse that was no good, but when we were leaving, there was this beautiful bay, running around the paddocks, fooling around, going mad! - naturally I wanted him there and then, but he wasn't for sale. A few weeks later, the owner phoned to say that she had decided to sell the young bay. So we drove out again that weekend and tried him out - It was meant to be! He was the most beautiful, cheeky, free spirited horse I had ever seen! We fetched him a week later, and with lots of hard work, we were soon competing and doing well in shows. I had Patrol (Night Patrol is his name) for 8 years, and then decided to sell him in March this year. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, and I regret it everyday. I just didnt have the time nor the money to keep him anymore. He was just the most special thing to me, and taught me so much about patience, understanding, confidence, to never give up and a whole bunch more. Hopefully I can get back into riding pretty soon, just need more time on my hands.
I will never forget.....
